Breath of an Arctic fox by Marco Gaiotti, Italy. Marco was watching this little Arctic fox as it incessantly called another nearby. Gradually he noticed the fox’s wet breath was quickly freezing in the air after each call. It was late winter in Spitsbergen, Svalbard, and the air was -35C (-31F). Photographing Arctic foxes is often frustrating, as they are normally running around fast in search of food, but this one was very relaxed and let Marco get close enough to focus on it, with the light glowing perfectly in the background. In this Monday, April 6, 2020 photo, a woman carries a her baby and a bucket of water in Harare. Lockdowns imposed to curb the coronavirus’ spread have put millions of women in Africa, Asia and elsewhere out of reach of birth control and other sexual and reproductive health needs. Confined to their homes with husbands and others, they face unwanted pregnancies and little idea of when they can reach the outside world again. (Photo by Tsvangirayi Mukwazhi/AP Photo)

Tango instructor Fernando Waisberg (R) and Isabella Waisberg (L) pose for a photograph during a Tango lecture session in Taipei, Taiwan, 14 April 2019 (issued 18 April 2019). Taiwan has developed its own Tango, with a strong Japanese influence; the accompanying music features lyrics in Taiwanese and Mandarin, the pace slower and simpler than the original. Taiwanese Tango is now a popular phenomenon among people over 40, and is also a subject little studied inside and outside of the island. (Photo by Ritchie B. Tongo/EPA/EFE)

Journalists (L) walk along the new Caminito del Rey (The King's Little Pathway) in El Chorro-Alora, near Malaga, southern Spain March 15, 2015. Dubbed by many media outlets as the world's scariest pathway, the three-kilometre long pathway, which was built at about 100 metres (330 ft) above the gorge of Los Gaitanes between the years of 1901 and 1905, was closed in 2001 after five people died. A new walkway has then been built over the old walkway and will open to the public on March 28, 2015. (Photo by Jon Nazca/Reuters)

Bob Carey By The Tutu Project

You don't often see a man walking around a field of cows wearing a pink tutu. Needless to say, we were intrigued by Bob Carey and the shirtless photos of him gallivanting around in a costume often worn by little girls. We sensed there was a good story behind this alter-ego ballerina, but we didn't expect it would be this heartwarming.

Imagine Life As Children

The minds of children are a wondrous thing… I think. I don’t quite remember how it was my mind worked as a child, but it’d better have been wondrous because otherwise I have no explanation for how absolutely insane children act. Either way, Pierrette Diaz did a fantastic job of bringing the world of little kids to adults in an interesting series of paintings that depict the world through a child’s eyes.

Undercats By Sebastian Magnani

Vietnamese artist Hoang Tien Quyet produces curved paper forms using a difficult technique known as wet-folding. This adds an element of sculpture to the work, making Hoàng’s origami animals truly remarkable. Too little water and the paper dries before the folding is done; too much water, and the paper will rip.
