Personal possessions of 2004 tsunami victims are arranged to be photographed outside a police station in Takua Pa, in Phang Nga province December 19, 2014. Thai police opened a shipping container filled with documents and possessions of victims of the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami after being asked by Reuters for permission to film its contents. The three metre by 12 metre container was handed over to Thai police in 2011 and contains hundreds of plastic police evidence bags – each one holding the precious items found on the body of a victim. Matador Marco Espinola, who emigrated from the Azores two years ago, challenges a bull during an Azorean “tourada a corda” (bullfight by rope) in Brampton, Ontario August 15, 2015. Bulls in a tourada a corda are held by a rope controlled by a team of men to make sure the animal does not cause injury. Bulls are never killed, in contrast with bullfighting in Spain. The Portuguese population in Canada, numbering 429,000 in the 2011 census, mainly centers around Toronto with immigrants from the nine islands of the mid-Atlantic Azores archipelago. “I was born in the United States in 1985. As early as I can remember I’ve been a “doodler”. From even the early days I’ve always loved strange, offbeat, beautiful, and slightly melancholy things. Something about the mixed grabbed me. My love for sketching carried on throughout my high school days. Which is when I took a small class on watercolor. Watercolor is what birthed my passion for mixing colors and how a color can tell a story. In year 2009 I discovered digital painting and my new found passion for the medium. It’s been the favored medium for the past years since. I’ve used online tutorials and videos to help me learn along the way and then in late 2011 I took a workshop called Becoming a Better Artist. The beginning of 2013 I won a class from The Art Department which will start this spring.”

About Me

My Name Is Shikhei Goh. I was born in Dabo Singkep (Riau Islands) and now I live in Batam Island, an industrial island about 45 minutes by boat from singapore. I started taking pictures using a DSLR in March 2011. I had tried taking pictures of many things but I really have a great passion for Macro photography and I can say I am a macro addict.
I have always said to myself that I must and I can make great photos. After countless of trials and errors, explorations, and criticisms I can say that I am happy enough for what I have achieved now. However, I will keep on exploring as there are always new things in macro photography.

“Serengeti National Park encompasses 5,700 square miles of grassy plains and woodlands near the northern border of Tanzania, and is home to more than 3,500 lions grouped into a couple dozen prides. Photographer Nick Nichols and videographer Nathan Williamson made several extended trips to the Serengeti between July 2011 and January 2013, determined to break new visual ground in their coverage of the Serengeti Lions”. “Pilot whales are cetaceans belonging to the genus Globicephala. There are two extant species, the long-finned pilot whale (G. melas) and the short-finned pilot whale (G. macrorhynchus). The two are not readily distinguished at sea and analysis of the skulls is the best way to tell the difference between the two species. Between the two species, pilot whales range in waters nearly worldwide with long-finned pilot whales living in cooler waters and short-finned pilot whales living in warmer waters. Pilot whales are among the largest of the oceanic dolphins, exceeded in size only by the killer whale. They and other large members of the dolphin family are also known as blackfish”. – Wikipedia

Gothic rock music enthusiasts walk the streets between venues during the annual Wave Gotik music festival on June 11, 2011 in Leipzig, Germany. The festival began in the 1990s and has since grown into one of the biggest gatherings of Goth scene followers in Europe with around 20,000 participants. Many of those attending wear elaborate outfits and make-up for which they require hours of painstaking preparation and that also show a departure from the traditional black of the Goth scene. Punk remains a strong influence in today's Goth style as witnessed in Leipzig, but newer trends, with names like Cybergoth and Steampunk, have emerged that blend bold colors, Victorian fashion elegance and 19th and 20th century factory accessories into a look reminiscent of a mutated Venetian carnival. The five-day festival includes performances by around 200 bands. (Photo by Carsten Koall/Getty Images)
