Clark was the guy who was photographed dropping into stupidly heavy Waimea shorebreak a few years back. Always admired him for that. I've swum in that shoredump and it's fu*cking heavy!
I also contracted some crazy tropical disease digging out Waimea river, but that's another story altogether!

Close Encounter of the Insect Kind: Check out the awesome face on this praying mantis. I can't get over the mouth, it's like something from a science fiction movie. Of all photographic styles macro is definitely my favorite. I am constantly amazed, in every photo that I take, by the intricate level of detail that exists on even the smallest of creatures. Frozen With Fear

This line of sci-fi and horror-inspired popsicles comes from ice cream maker and clothing designer Stoyn. Some of the flavors -- apple carrot puree, tomato hot pepper -- sound a little unappetizing, but Mario's Tequila Sunrise is probably pretty good, and definitely not as creepy looking.
