Live fish. Vietnam has the highest number of motorbikes in all of south-east Asia – Hanoi alone has 5m of them, and only half a million cars. Now the city is planning to ban them by 2030 to cut pollution. (Photo by Jon Enoch/The Guardian)

From footballs to live fish, delivery mopeds piled high with unwieldy, unlikely goods are one of the Vietnamese capital’s most distinctive sights. As the city plans to ban motorbikes altogether, photographer Jon Enoch captured the drivers at work. (Photo by Jon Enoch/The Guardian)

Wearing red-framed sunglasses and a helmet the two golden retrievers happily sandwich their owner on the fast bike. Unsurprisingly, the sight of the docile dogs hitching a fast ride in Surabaya, Indonesia, attracts a lot of attention from onlookers. Ace and Armani have been riding since they were just a few months old and now at the age of three the pair jump onto the bike whenever they think their owner is heading out. The mudmen come from the country’s western highlands, where there are virtually no roads, cars, electricity or shops. (Photo by Jeremy Hunter/Exclusivepix Media)

For centuries the Highlands peoples of Papua New Guinea fought over land, women and pigs. Sorcery and battle skills could elevate a clan to Bigmanship, where the bigger the “presentation”, the bigger the man. Clans therefore would paint their bodies and create fearsome masks as part of their psy. Here: These are the terrifying tribe of “mudmen” from a remote part of Papua New Guinea. Britain's Mo Farah reacts as he wins the men's 5000m final at the London 2012 Olympic Games at the Olympic Stadium in Britain August 11, 2012. Lucy Nicholson: “When Mo Farah was rounding the final corner for the 5000m the huge stadium was electric, everybody was on their feet and he knew he was going to win as he came into that final stretch. All the photographers were excited because we knew he was going to react in a very dramatic way so it was a lovely sequence of photos as he crossed the finish line – he put his hands over his head, he wrapped himself in the British flag, it was a very long celebration sequence, which is all you can really wish for as a photographer”.
