A Palestinian fisherman washes up a manta ray on the beach of Gaza City, Sunday, March 12, 2023. Gaza fishermen catch the rare, endangered rays when they pass offshore during their winter migration. They say they know the rays are protected, but Israeli limitations on the size of an authorized fishing area leaves them no other option. Impoverished Gazans buy it as a source of protein because it's cheap, with a kilogram (2.2 pounds) sold for around $3. (Photo by Fatima Shbair/AP Photo)
