Throughout time, people invented and reinvented rollerblades. Of course everyone’s dream was to combine them with regular footwear, so that at one moment you’re riding down the road, and in 5 seconds you’re walking into a shopping mall, without the mall cop chasing after you. The most resent inventions were heelys (sneakers with a wheel located in the heels) and Xsjados (aggressive skates, the exterior of which could be removed to reveal regular sneakers). In the past, people made similar attempts, however, these inventions were very inefficient and the trend never caught on. Omnia’C has found and made photos of one of such inventions: pop out roller skate sandals all the way from 1970s. Though their design is pretty cool, it seems like they would be very uncomfortable, since they totally lack ankle support.

“Are you here for the Winery Tour?” This is a Western Grey Kangaroo caught lounging in the wineries of the Adelaide Hills in South Australia. This past Autumn has been a spectacular time for wildlife viewing and I got lucky to spot this guy while mountain biking in the hills. Such a funny stance it just begs the question... A couple of roving film fangirls have recreated some of their favorite TV and movie moments by traveling to the exact locations and capturing them using their iPad. Tiia Öhman and Satu Walden have travelled thousands of miles across North America and Ireland to recapture the magic of their best loved scenes. However, instead of featuring their movie heroes, the pair, from Cardiff, have replaced them with an iPad or a phone screen displaying the action. The underbelly of fetish parties has been exposed in photographs captured by Belgian photographer MagLau. The photographer dedicated three years to capturing the obsession with leather and chains, visiting fetish parties through Europe and Japan. The photographer told: “I just took pictures, always finding some beauty in the dark side”. He said that most people were happy to be photographed for the project, with the images included in a new book Fetish Ballad. We place too much value into something as elusive as time. This is the lesson that Arina Pozdnyak, the creator of Perpetual Calendar, is trying to teach us. Days fly by, and even months are mere speckles of sand in an hourglass of eternity. People do not realize that the time given to us by fate cannot be measured using months or even years. It is measured using emotions and impressions. If a person lives to be 150 years old without experiencing any emotions, he might as well have lived one day, for all it’s worth. On the other hand, a person who lived an exciting, fulfilling life, read countless books and cherished every moment that he had, is actually the one who lived a longer life, even if in reality his flame was snuffed out much too soon.
