Respect, Kronotsky nature reserve, Russia. The photographer’s cat, Ryska – her name means little lynx in Russian – stands outside their cabin and with aggressive posturing warns off a fox. In winter, foxes would regularly visit the cabin searching for food. If one peered in at the window, possible when the snow was deep, Ryska would sit on the other side, fur raised, and growl. When outside, she would hold her ground. The foxes were not always frightened and so encounters could be a sort of dance. (Photo by Igor Shpilenok/Unforgettable Behaviour/NHM)

Jerome Flynn, who played Bronn on “Game of Thrones“, posed in a cage on London's Oxford Street on November 26, 2019 alongside the campaign group Farms Not Factories to raise awareness that most supermarkets and high street food chains are still sourcing their pork almost entirely from factory farms. Says Jerome "Factory Farming is one of the most horrific examples of how far we have strayed from our hearts in the relentless drive for profit and so called progress”. A girl walks along former railway tracks in the so- called “Tunnel of Love”, surrounded by arches of intertwined trees, near the Ukrainian village of Klevan, Rivno region, on August 6, 2018. The tunnel of about five kilometres in length is a botanical phenomenon, which became a cult place for tourists and couples in love. The tourist legend says that wishes of couples in love will come true, if the couple passes through the tunnel. (Photo by Sergei Supinsky/AFP Photo)

“A team of expert cavers and photographers had been exploring caves in the Chongquing province of China – when they were amazed to discover the entrance to a hidden cave that was previously undiscovered. And they were stunned when they managed to enter the ginormous cave – and found that it was so large there was even a cloud inside it – a cave so large it has its own weather system. Photographer and caver Robbie Shone, from Manchester, was part of a team of 15 explorers on a month-long expedition who stumbled across the natural wonder”. – Caters News

Ice Age – Tibet, China. “This is the Chinese version of the blue ice lake, Pumoungcuo, at an altitude of 5,070 metres (16,600 feet). This lake in Tibet freezes every winter. At night, under the low temperatures of -20C, you can listen to the sound of the ice cracking while capturing the most beautiful winter sky. The blue ice surface and dazzling Orion constellation create a fantasy landscape. I felt so happy to have the stars as my companion on this magical night”.
