Behaviour: Mammals category. Giant Gathering by Tony Wu, USA. Dozens of sperm whales mingled noisily off Sri Lanka’s northeast coast, stacked as far down as Tony could see. This was a congregation of dozens of social units, like a gathering of the clans. Aggregations like this could be a critical part of the whales’ rich social lives but are rarely reported. Some two thirds of the population was wiped out before commercial whaling was banned in 1986. This kind of major gathering could be “a sign that populations are recovering”, says Tony. Everyone meet Dakota Rose, she’s a 16-year-old girl who goes by KotaKoti and looks a lot like a Barbie doll. Recently, photos of her have gone viral on several Asia and Arabic social sites because of her incredible resemblance to Barbie.

This surreal metal sculpture is created by a famous sculptor, Neil Dawson in New Zealand. The masterpiece is made from steel and painted like if it’s a drawing from a cartoon. The artwork can be visited at Gibbs Farm, that is host to many other art sculptures as well.

French artist Charlotte Caron makes very interesting paintings. For the works, a combination of photography and painting, she paints animal heads looking like some sort of masks over the faces of photo-portraits that she takes herself.
