Famous Political Figures by Ahmad Kushha is a series of illustrations that feature world leaders that have been shrunken down to look like cartoon characters with huge eyes.

Since his childhood, Czech artist Jan Patrik Krasny has been attracted to the dynamic style of comics, which has heavily influenced his science-fiction and fantasy illustrations. His collection features beautifully detailed images that are full of imagination.

Several new species of peacock spider – just a few millimetres long and featuring extraordinary colours – have been discovered in Western Australia and South Australia. Jürgen Otto, a biologist from Sydney, has been researching the arachnids since 2005, and has gained a significant following online with his footage. He believes there are now 48 confirmed species of peacock spider within the Maratus genus, found across Australia but particularly in Western Australia – and many more awaiting confirmation. An unexpected side-effect of the flooding in parts of Pakistan has been that millions of spiders climbed up into the trees to escape the rising flood waters. Because of the scale of the flooding and the fact that the water has taken so long to recede, many trees have become cocooned in spiders’ webs.
