Melissa Rowell, amateur honourable mention. Wakodahatchee wetlands, Delray Beach, Florida, US. Equipped with sinewy necks and spear-like bills, great blue herons can lunge with fearsome speed to strike their aquatic prey. Adults will also employ rapid stabbing motions as one aspect of their complex courtship displays; they’re seemingly dangerous moves, but fitting to the intensity of mating season. The picture dated January 30, 2025 shows the Red Arrows swooping through the skies as they carry out a winter training session over RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire. The team made the most of the sunny weather to practice their signature moves, with plenty of twists and turns in the blue skies. Hong Kong Shop Cats #17. Marcel Heijnen returned to Hong Kong in 2015 and found himself living without a cat for the first time in decades.
