Picture by Guzelian GUZELIAN: SAY BANANAS! COLLECTION OF PHOTOGRAPHS TAKEN BY A MONKEY GO UNDER THE HAMMER. A collection of one-of-a-kind photographs is set to go under the hammer - so unique because the set was taken by a CHIMPANZEE. The pictures, which will be sold at Sotheby's Auction House, London, on June 5, are expected to fetch between £50,000 - £70,000.

“As is probably stated somewhere in the theory of infinity, if you give an infinite amount of monkeys an infinite number of old-timey Polaroid cameras, one will eventually take “artistic” blurry photos of historical sites in Moscow which will then be auctioned at Sotheby's for an estimated $75,000 – $100,000. Fortunately for every simian art fan with a spare $100k, we are currently living in the very universe in which that concept is reality. Eighteen photographs by – and of – Mikki The Chimpanzee are going to auction on June 5, 2013”. – Callie Beusman via Jezebel.com. (Photo by Guzelian)

A girl plays in the Eshash el-Sudan slum in the Dokki neighbourhood of Giza, south of Cairo, Egypt September 2, 2015. Residents of the slum clashed with police in late August, when about 50 ramshackle huts were destroyed and at least 20 people were injured by teargas, local media reported, as authorities attempt to clear the area and rehouse residents. The slum dwellers, some of whom have called Eshash el-Sudan home for 50 years, say there are not enough apartments built nearby to house them. The residents of the slum eke out a living by disposing of rubbish or baking bread. Schooling is too expensive for most of their children, who play with salvaged rubbish amid shacks made out of discarded wood and leather. (Photo by Amr Abdallah Dalsh/Reuters)

Demonstrators made barricades during clashes with police following a protest condemning the arrest of rap artist Pablo Hasél in Barcelona, Spain, Thursday, February 18, 2021. The imprisonment of a rap artist for his music praising terrorist violence and insulting the Spanish monarchy has set off a powder keg of pent-up rage this week in Spain. The arrest of Pablo Hasél has brought thousands to the streets for different reasons. The majority march under the banner of freedom of speech, but Hasél's lyrics also tap into a debate about the role of Spain's parliamentary monarchy after financial scandals involving the royal house. Venezuela's food shortages, inflation and crumbling medical sector have become such a source of anguish that a growing number of young women are reluctantly opting for sterilizations rather than face the hardship of pregnancy and child-rearing. Traditional contraceptives like condoms or birth control pills have virtually vanished from store shelves, pushing women towards the hard-to-reverse surgery. While no recent national statistics on sterilizations are available, doctors and health workers say demand for the procedure is growing. (Photo by Carlos Garcia Rawlins/Reuters)

Images of an American ghost town that was home to gold mines and features a plane which crashed during the filming of 3000 Miles to Graceland starring Kevin Costner and Kurt Russell reveal the remnants of the once thriving location. An assortment of rusted vehicles which include a canary yellow bus, caravans and cars have all been left behind in the desert. Other pictures of Nelson, Nevada show its desolate surroundings with only a couple of houses and museums scattered around the area. In one shot, a derelict petrol pump stands still after making its final sale years ago. The stunning photographs were taken by an American photographer known as Abandoned Southeast on a visit to Nelson, Nevada. The area was called Eldorado by the Spaniards who made the original discoveries of gold in the town. The notorious Techatticup gold and silver mine which was associated with crime and murders ran in the area from 1861 to 1942. It was the richest mine in Southern Nevada.
