These are the ambitious plans which suggest skyscrapers of the future may house an entire city. The Endless City project is an award-winning proposal by sure Architecture, who propose turning skyscrapers into complete ecosystems. London is the proposed city for the mixed-use tower – which would feature huge ramps linking different sections of the structure. The company, whose design won the SkyScrapers and SuperSkyScrapers Competition, insist the structure would be a great space-saver in dense cities which have previously spread outwards rather than upwards. In this photo taken on Saturday, April, 4, 2015, a bear chews on a corncob at a shelter that attracts hundreds of visitors and volunteers from around the world every year, in Kutarevo, Croatia. Over a decade ago, Ivan Crnkovic-Pavenka, a retired Croatian social worker decided to help bears become “ambassadors of the wilderness” among people and set up a unique shelter for brown bears in the idyllic mountain village of Kutarevo in central Croatia, where eight bears currently live in two huge enclosures. “Complete Stop”. (Painting by Gregory Thielker)

When he's driving, New York-based painter Gregory Thielker takes in the views that change from moment to moment: the road, the sky, other cars. “Inside the car it's easy to forget the outside temperature, humidity, the noise of the road”, he says. “But something happens when rain interrupts the view: the lens through which we are seeing is revealed. Water both obscures and highlights the landscape”. Gregory Thielker's exhibition “Between here and now” will be at Castor Gallery in lower Manhattan from early March. Here: “Complete Stop”.
