The Spanish city of Bilbao, known architecturally for its Guggenheim, has a new(ish) architectural icon. Not that it’s replacing Ghery’s work, just another one.

The photos, taken within days of one another, were captured in the space of less than a second, as the space station could be clearly seen zooming across against the bright backdrops of both moon and sun. Vatnajökull (meaning Glacier of Rivers), also known as the Vatna Glacier, is the largest and most voluminous Icelandic glacier, and one of the largest in area in Europe. It is located in the south-east of the island, covering more than 8 percent of the country.
