A worker paints the Amazon Tall Tower Observatory (ATTO) in Sao Sebastiao do Uatuma in the middle of the Amazon forest in Amazonas state January 10, 2015. The Amazon Tall Tower Observatory is a project of Brazil's National Institute of Amazonian Research and Germany's Max Planck Institute and will be equipped with high-tech instruments and an observatory to monitor relationships between the jungle and the atmosphere from next July. China’s new tallest building has received unexpected publicity thanks to Russian free climbers Vadim Makhorov and Vitaly Raskalov. The pair took two hours to climb 650 metres up the unfinished Shanghai Tower. They did not use safety equipment on their ascent to the top of a crane attached to the tower, from where they took these extraordinary pictures of Shanghai. The Eiffel Tower from Below

Built in 1889 as the entrance arch to the World’s Fair, the 320 meter (1,050 ft) tall Eiffel Tower, located on the Champ de Mars in Paris, is undoubtedly one of the most iconic structures in the world. For 41 years it held the title as the world’s tallest man-made structure until the completion of the Chrysler Building in New York City in 1930.
