Multiple Fatalities Feared In M5 27-Vehicle Pile-Up

Emergency services continue to attend the scene of a multiple fatal collision near Junction 25 on the M5 motorway on November 5, 2011 near Taunton, England. At least 27 vehicles crashed on the northbound carriageway of the M5 near Taunton, causing several explosions. A female street art collective has set a new Guinness World Record to create the largest spray-painted mural by multiple artists. Over 100 international female street artists came together to create the continuous mural in south London’s Leake Street Tunnel, made famous by Banksy, on March 8, 2014. The record was broken as part of all-female street art event Femme Fierce, the largest of its kind in the UK, which aims to celebrate women street artists across the world. Ceramic Poppies Surround the Tower of London

To commemorate the centennial of Britain’s involvement in the First World War, ceramic artist Paul Cummins and stage designer Tom Piper conceived of a staggering installation of ceramic poppies planted in the famous dry moat around the Tower of London. Titled “Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red,” the final work will consist of 888,246 red ceramic flowers—each representing a British or Colonial military fatality—that flow through grounds around the tower.
