British artist Lucy Sparrow makes her West Coast debut this week with a nearly 2,800-square-foot supermarket in which everything is made completely of the crafting fabric beloved by kindergarten teachers and camp counselors. The installation, which is staged inside the Standard, Downtown L.A. and runs August 1 to 31, is fully shoppable. Last year around this time, Zuzia Kozerska of Valek Rolling Pins (previously) practically set the internet on fire with lasers, more specifically her laser engraved rolling pins that imprint different patterns in cookie dough. Kozerska has been hard at work creating increasingly more complex designs as well as special mini pins just for kids. You can see more in her Etsy shop.

Once upon a time a girl named Laura lived in Columbus, Ohio. She had a nice family, and got good grades, but it was always rainy and cold in Columbus, which was neither nice nor good, so she wore lots of sweaters and turned the heat up when her dad wasn’t looking.

Perched on the snout of a crocodile, this brave frog will probably never realise just how much of a lucky escape it's had. For there's one reason the reptile's beady eye is fixed greedily on its visitor with jaws gaping wide in anticipation - it's feeding time. The crocodile had just devoured the first frog in his enclosure, but appeared unable to capture the second.

Created by ceramic artist Mary O’Malley, who studied in Philadelphia and now resides in Long Island, New York, the Bottom Feeders series is particularly inspired by childhood memories and her newly familiar surroundings next to the sea. By combining the imagery of sea creatures with the elegance of tea time, O'Malley envisions a whimsical occasion worthy of such fictional characters a Davy Jones and Alice.
