Another step further into the world of lattice shell structures: From Buckminster Fuller to Massimiliano Fuksas and James Law’s ‘Cybertecture Egg’, Agence SEARCH express their fascination by experimenting with the retail world proposing their version of ‘Cybertecture Egg’ for the interior of Beaugrenelle Shopping Mall without modifying the existing architecture. Thus the visitor’s first perception goes beyond the scale of the building, to encompass its referential universe, its status, and its identity.

The minds of children are a wondrous thing… I think. I don’t quite remember how it was my mind worked as a child, but it’d better have been wondrous because otherwise I have no explanation for how absolutely insane children act. Either way, Pierrette Diaz did a fantastic job of bringing the world of little kids to adults in an interesting series of paintings that depict the world through a child’s eyes.

The Leshan Giant Buddha was built during the Tang Dynasty (618–907AD). It is carved out of a cliff face that lies at the confluence of the Minjiang, Dadu and Qingyi rivers in the southern part of Sichuan province in China, near the city of Leshan. The stone sculpture faces Mount Emei, with the rivers flowing below his feet. It is the largest carved stone Buddha in the world[1] and it is by far the tallest pre-modern statue in the world.
