The legendary silver fox is a creature of mystery rarely seen in the wild, and will – literally – run for the hills upon human encounters

A lone male cheetah is set upon by a pack of African wild dogs. Peter Haygarth had been following the dogs as they hunted in Zimanga Private Game Reserve in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. On first encountering the cheetah, the dogs were wary, but as the rest of the pack arrived, their confidence grew and they began to encircle the cat. Peter kept his focus on the cat’s face. These pictures show a rather annoying crow irritating an eagle. The crow tirelessly circles the bird of prey and repeatedly lands on his head – much to the crows displeasure. The encounter was spotted by Greaves Henriksen in Tamilnadu, India. The 52-year-old amateur photographer believes the eagle was sitting close to a nest, which the crow was trying to defend.
